The World Bureau of Moderation, colloquially known as "the jannies" or "mods", is the security service and law enforcement agency of the world. A leading counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative organization, the WBM has jurisdiction over violations of Discord rules. The WBM maintains a private list of its top 10 most wanted coal posters.
History
Before WBM was established, the only world members that were able to enforce rules and police the world were Moderators. The role of an Administrator was not fully formed at the time; even the decree signatories were internally referred to as Moderators. As of March 14, 2026, the Administrators are AGARTHA and POLAND, with PORTUGAL acting as a stand-in Administrator in the absence of the former.
The first appointed Moderator was POLAND, followed by MEXICO, PORTUGAL, CASCADIA, FINLAND and SLAVE 333.
The WBM was established in March 2025 with the establishment of the Janny role, with ARGENTINA being the first Janny to join the WBM. The Janny role was established in order to speed up the ever-increasing queues of immigrants outside of the gates.
Since then, many Jannies have joined the ranks of WBM; ordered from oldest to latest: SLAVE 139 (later promoted to Moderator), ISRAEL, DIXIELAND, SWEDEN, SLAVE 1337, SLAVE 311 (HATE), BRAZIL and SLAVE 443. Exact join dates were not tracked until March 2026.
Organization
Jannies
Jannies are tasked with member vetting and content moderation. They're the first line of defense against various threats. They are authorized to let people through the gates, delete rule-breaking content or time people out.
Moderators
Also known as mods, have the same powers and tasks as Jannies, with the addition of permanent removal of repeat or gross offenders; they are authorized to ban those who are deemed troublemakers or terrorists.
Administrators
Also known as the benevolent chungi of the world, oversee and coordinate all operations conducted by Jannies and Moderators. They have absolute power and stand at the top of the WBM hierarchy, serving as holy vessels of worldchan.
Controversies
The Chud Divorce
On December 12, 2025, a ban wave has been executed as part of Operation Winter Wrap-up, which resulted in the divorce of two best friends, URUGUAY and ITALY, with the former being banned permanently.
ITALY has since engaged in loud crying, hate speech and threats of violence against the WBM. He also accused the WBM of mistreatment and miscarriage of justice.
